Here Are The Houston-Area School Districts Closing For Tropical Storm Nicholas

HISD

All Houston ISD schools will be closed Tuesday for both in-person and virtual instruction, in response to Tropical Storm Nicholas.

All after-school activities and sports were canceled for the rest of the day Monday, and the district advised schools and administrative buildings to close by 5 p.m. on Monday.

All HISD offices are also closed Tuesday, and students do not need to make up the missed day, according to HISD.

Alief

All Alief ISD after-school activities are canceled Monday, and schools will be dismissed early. Classes and after-school activities are canceled Tuesday.

The list of early closings in Alief ISD:

• High School – 1:30 p.m.
• ALC – 2:10 p.m.
• Crossroads – 2:15 p.m.
• Middle School – 2:40 p.m.
• Elementary – 3:20 p.m.
• Intermediate – 3:50 p.m.

Alvin ISD

Alvin ISD closed Monday, and the district said it would make a decision on Tuesday closures later in the day.

Anahuac ISD

AISD will have school Monday, Sept. 13th. AISD will monitor TS Nicholas today and communicate any changes to afterschool activities or school closures Monday afternoon.

Angleton ISD

Angleton ISD closed Monday, and the district said it would make a decision on Tuesday closures later in the day.

Brazosport ISD

Brazosport ISD schools are closed through at least Tuesday.

Clear Creek ISD

Clear Creek ISD schools closed Monday, and the district said it would make a decision on Tuesday cancelations later in the day.

Clear Horizons Early College High School students may choose to attend classes at San Jacinto College using their own transportation, the district said.

All dual credit courses are canceled.

Cleveland ISD

Cleveland ISD Superintendent Chris Trotter was set to give an update on school operations at 11 a.m. Monday.

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD

Cy-Fair ISD canceled all after-school activities Monday, and all schools and facilities will be closed Tuesday, including virtual classes and all after-school activities. The Board of Trustees meeting will be held Monday night as scheduled.

Damon ISD

Danbury ISD

Danbury ISD will be closed Monday and Tuesday, including after-school activities.

Dayton ISD

Dayton ISD canceled all classes and after-school activities Monday and Tuesday.

Dickinson ISD

Dickinson ISD schools are closed Monday.

Fort Bend ISD

All Fort Bend ISD schools and facilities will dismiss early Monday and remain closed Tuesday. All after-school activities are canceled.

The list of early closings in Fort Bend ISD:

• High School – 11:35 a.m.
• Middle School – 1:25 p.m.
• Elementary School – 12:10 p.m.

Bus routes will run an early dismissal schedule in the afternoon, and the district will serve lunches according to the adjusted schedule.

Friendswood ISD

Friendswood ISD schools are closed Monday, and all after-school activities are canceled.

Galveston ISD

Galveston ISD will close early Monday, and all school events and activities are canceled.

• Elementary – 11:30 a.m.
• Middle School and High School – 12:15 p.m.

Hitchcock ISD

Hitchcock ISD closed Monday, and all after-school activities were canceled. The district is monitoring the weather and will make a decision regarding Tuesday by the end of the day.

Huffman ISD

Klein ISD

Klein ISD is closed through at least Tuesday, and all after-school student and campus activities are canceled.

Lamar CISD

All Lamar CISD campuses will dismiss students an hour early on Monday and all campuses and facilities are closed Tuesday. After-school activities, meetings and events are all canceled.

La Porte ISD

La Porte ISD closed Monday.

Livingston ISD

As of its last updates, school operations remains normal this week.

Needville ISD

Needville ISD will close Tuesday. Monday operations will continue as normal.

Pasadena ISD

Pasadena ISD closed Monday, and all afternoon activities are canceled. A decision on Tuesday will be made by Monday afternoon, the district said.

Pearland ISD

Pearland ISD closed Monday, and canceled all after-school activities. A decision regarding Tuesday will be made by Monday afternoon.

Santa Fe ISD

Santa Fe ISD closed Monday, and afternoon activities were canceled. The district will remain closed Tuesday.

Shepherd ISD

Splendora ISD

All Splendors ISD schools remained open per the district’s last update Sunday evening.

Spring ISD

Spring ISD schools and offices are closed through at least Tuesday.

Spring Branch ISD

All Spring Branch ISD schools and offices will be closed Tuesday, but classes will continue as normal Monday.

Stafford Municipal School District

All campuses and facilities operate on a regular schedule Monday, but after-school activities are canceled, including the scheduled board meeting.

Schools are closed Tuesday.

Sweeny ISD

Texas City ISD

Texas City ISD is closed through at least Tuesday.

Tomball ISD

Tomball ISD schools and offices will be closed and no virtual instruction will be expected through Tuesday.
